Home of One of the Largest Known Tournament Catfish caught in the United States weighing in at 90 lbs and 3 oz.

Waverly Cats is a non-profit organization promoting the conservation of big catfish and catch and release tournaments.

Our central location on the Missouri River at Port Waverly in Waverly, MO allows us to draw catfishermen from many states. Many of these are some of the best known  tournament catfishermen.

We have two catfish night tournaments each year on the 3rd weekend of  July and August.  A $100.00 early entry fee if paid one week prior to the tournament date.  Entry fee day of tournament $120.00 CASH only.  Fee includes big fish with a minimun guarantee $1000.00 for first place and a minimun guarantee of $500.00 for big fish . We have been having 50 to 60 boats per tournament and growing.

Since we do not allow dead fish to be checked our Tournament Director Francis Jennings is available all night so that fishermen may weigh in any fish that may be stressed.

 JULY 2008 Tournament

We had 41 boats with good weather although somewhat hot.  The top 15 boats received cash and other prizes.  Big fish was a whopping 70.5 lb Bluecat. 

Bub and Tyler Cunningham won the free entry to our next tournament.  

The drawing for the $100.00 Wal-mart gift certificate given by the Chillicothe Wal-mart Store was open to all entries and Chad Cole and James Edmiston were the lucky winners.

August 2007 Tournament

We had good weather with a little rain.  56 boats participated with 110 fishermen.  Again the top 15 received cash and other prizes.  We had 10 fish over 50#!!!  Don Sweet from American Catfish filmed part of our tournament.   Roger Whetstine Sr & Cole Whetstine won the free entry to our next tournament.  Be sure and check photos for this tournament with the above link 'Photos August 2007' upper left-hand corner.
